Choctaw Senior Spotlight: Jordan Pritchard (Track & Field)

CLINTON, Miss. --- Spring sports seniors across the nation had their collegiate careers cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A time-honored tradition across all athletic departments is to celebrate "Senior Day" by recognizing each of the members of their senior class for their efforts while a part of their program.

At Mississippi College, we wanted to let each one of our spring sports student-athletes have their own "Senior Day" to thank them for their time as Choctaws and Lady Choctaws. Their contributions to their teams and the athletic department will always be remembered.

JORDAN PRITCHARD --- TRACK & FIELD

A native of Painesville, Ohio, Jordan Pritchard traveled outside of the Buckeye State to continue his collegiate career following some time at Lake Erie College.

"Most athletes strive for athletic success. Some athletes even pursue athletic mastery. Jordan has been on the rare competitors that also desired excellence in leadership too," said head coach Matthew Reneker. "The casual observer would obviously see Jordan laying down outstanding performances, few outsiders had the opportunity to see this Ohio native push others to greatness. A national caliber athlete, a once and a generation leader."

Pritchard has been a two-sport, student athlete during his time at Mississippi College as he also served as a member of the Choctaw cross country team. He competed in the 800 meters, 1500 meters, mile, 3000 meters and 5000 meters on the track for the Navy and Gold. He is a four-time, USTFCCCA All-South Region performer, a three-time, member of the Gulf South Conference All-Academic Team and five-time selection to the conference's academic honor roll during his time in Clinton along with being named all-conference twice during cross country.

The business administration major is the son of Dawn and John Pritchard.

Every day for the next five weeks, we will recognize a senior for their contributions on and off the field for their respective programs. The baseball, softball, golf, tennis and track & field programs will all be represented in alphabetical order, regardless of sport.
