Choctaw Senior Spotlight: Brandon Broussard (Baseball)

CLINTON, Miss. --- Spring sports seniors across the nation had their collegiate careers cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A time-honored tradition across all athletic departments is to celebrate "Senior Day" by recognizing each of the members of their senior class for their efforts while a part of their program.

At Mississippi College, we wanted to let each one of our spring sports student-athletes have their own "Senior Day" to thank them for their time as Choctaws and Lady Choctaws. Their contributions to their teams and the athletic department will always be remembered.

BRANDON BROUSSARD  ---  BASEBALL

A native of Loxley, Ala., Brandon Broussard leaves his impact on the Mississippi College baseball over his four seasons with the program.

"Brandon has been the foundation of this program for the last few years," head coach Jeremy Haworth said. "He's had to carry a lot of weight and responsibility behind the plate and never complained once. Brandon has shown a lot of courage during his time at MC and we want to thank him for his commitment to the program."

Broussard has excelled on and off the field during his time in Clinton. He an All-GSC performer on the field and a two-time GSC Academic Honor Roll selection in the classroom. He finishes his four-year career as the Choctaw backstop and one of the most patient hitters in program history with 73 walks, the most for any Choctaw since 2002, which lands him on the program's career list.

He is the son of Debbie and the late Gary Broussard. He is majoring in Business Administration.

Every day for the next five weeks, we will recognize a senior for their contributions on and off the field for their respective programs. The baseball, softball, golf, tennis and track & field programs will all be represented in alphabetical order, regardless of sport.
