MC COMPLIANCE

Mississippi College is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association [Division II] and the Gulf South Conference.  As part of our membership it is our responsibility to both educate and monitor the actions of all coaches, faculty-staff, prospective student-athletes, enrolled student-athletes and representatives of athletics interest. As a member of the Mississippi College family, it is your responsibility to operate within the spirit and the intent of the regulations set forth by the NCAA, the Gulf South Conference and the Institution.  Doing so will protect the integrity of the athletic department and help us establish a culture of compliance within our campus community, but also extend this to our alumni, and friends of Mississippi College as well.

The information provided throughout this site is not a comprehensive list of NCAA rules.  However, it should serve as a helpful guide to assist in answering some common questions you may have.  If you have other questions you may contact:

REPORTING A VIOLATION
An important component of NCAA compliance is the self-reporting of rules violations.  It is impossible at some point to not inadvertently violate an NCAA rule.  However, it is how we handle the situation that can demonstrate appropriate institutional control or a lack thereof.

Self-reporting rule violations are important for several reasons.  First, awareness of possible violations gives an opportunity to correct the situation before it develops into a major infraction.  Secondly, awareness helps identify areas that need to be addressed with department policies or through further rules education.  Un-reported violations are more difficult to correct and usually lead to additional violations.

To uphold the integrity of intercollegiate athletics there is a responsibility to report any violations which you observe, hear of or participate in. Withholding information or supplying false information is a direct violation of Bylaw 10, Ethical Conduct. It is also important to “Ask Before You Act.” Should anyone have a question regarding rules compliance the Athletic Department encourages you to ask prior to acting to ensure we are in compliance.

Any alleged rule violations may be reported to any of the following:
