STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi College track & field continued competition Friday at the Mississippi State Bulldog Relays, highlighted by an event victory, podium finishes and several personal-best performances.
The Choctaws were led by Braedon Methvin, who captured the men's 5,000 meters title in 14:45.86. The winning time currently ranks third in the Gulf South Conference this season.
On the women's side, Kinley Harris delivered a standout performance in the 5,000 meters, placing second overall in a personal-best 17:41.43. Her mark moves her to No. 6 on Mississippi College's all-time list and currently ranks fifth in the Gulf South Conference.
Mississippi College also added several strong personal-best efforts throughout the day.
In the hurdles, Haylei Mason ran a personal-best 1:05.97 in the women's 400-meter hurdles, moving to sixth all-time at MC while climbing to second in the Gulf South Conference this season.
Other personal-best performances included Brett Tyler in the men's discus with a throw of 39.66 meters (130 feet, 1 inch), Kathryn Finch in the women's 5,000 meters at 18:11.10, and Tristan Bryan in the men's 5,000 meters with 15:10.87.
Mississippi College will close out the Bulldog Relays on Saturday, with the full squad in action for the final day of competition in Starkville.
