CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi Christian University Athletics has announced the hiring of Griffin Fleming as its Director of Fan Engagement, a full-time position dedicated to enhancing the game-day experience, strengthening community connections and expanding the university's growing fan engagement initiatives.
Fleming previously served as a graduate assistant for fan engagement during the 2025-26 academic year while also leading the MC Golden Girls dance team. In that role, she played an integral part in the continued growth of game-day attendance, student involvement and promotional activities across multiple athletic events.
As Director of Fan Engagement, Fleming will oversee and enhance a variety of initiatives designed to elevate the Choctaw fan experience. Her responsibilities will include managing the Choctaw Rewards program, coordinating game-day promotions and theme nights, developing student and community engagement opportunities, organizing special event activations, collaborating with local businesses and vendors, and creating memorable experiences for fans of all ages. She will also work closely with MC's spirit squads to further integrate them into the university's game-day atmosphere.
In addition to her fan engagement responsibilities, Fleming will continue serving as head coach of the MC Golden Girls.
"We've seen firsthand the impact Griffin can make on our campus and within our athletic department," Director of Athletics Kenny Bizot said. "Over the past several years, we've made a significant investment in creating an outstanding game-day atmosphere for our student-athletes, students, alumni and fans. That commitment has resulted in tremendous growth, and we believe the best is still ahead. Griffin brings energy, creativity and a genuine passion for people that aligns perfectly with our vision. We are excited to welcome her into this role full time and continue building something special for the entire MC community."
A graduate of Mississippi College and a familiar face throughout the Choctaw community, Fleming understands the traditions and values that make MC unique while bringing a fresh perspective to fan engagement efforts.
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue serving Mississippi Christian University in this new role," Fleming said. "MC has always felt like home to me, and I am passionate about creating experiences that bring people together and make our athletic events something our students, alumni, families and community members want to be a part of. We have built great momentum over the last year, and I am excited to continue finding new ways to engage our fans, celebrate our student-athletes and showcase everything that makes MC special."
Fleming's appointment reflects MC Athletics' continued commitment to enhancing the overall student-athlete and fan experience while strengthening connections throughout the Clinton community and beyond.
"Fan engagement has become an essential part of collegiate athletics, and Griffin is the perfect person to lead those efforts at MC," said Blake Weir, Athletic Communications Director for MC. "We have intentionally focused on creating an atmosphere that extends beyond the competition itself, and the response from our fans has been tremendous. Griffin understands our students, alumni and community because she is one of us. She's creative, organized and passionate about making every event an experience. This is a strategic hire that will help us continue building momentum across all of our athletic programs."
The Director of Fan Engagement position is part of MC Athletics' ongoing efforts to invest in the student-athlete experience while creating a welcoming and exciting environment for fans who support the Choctaws throughout the year.
