MC PLACES 16 ON GSC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS, 134 EARN ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL RECOGNITION

CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi Christian University continued its tradition of academic excellence during the 2025-26 academic year, placing 16 student-athletes on the Gulf South Conference All-Academic Teams while 134 Choctaws earned recognition on the league's Academic Honor Roll.

The All-Academic Teams recognize the top student-athletes in each conference-sponsored sport based on academic achievement, athletic contributions and overall involvement. To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, have completed at least one full year at their institution and be a starter or significant contributor within their sport.

Mississippi Christian was represented across six spring sports on the All-Academic Teams.

Women's tennis led the way with three selections, while softball, women's golf, men's outdoor track and field and women's outdoor track and field each produced multiple honorees. The baseball program also placed a representative on the prestigious team.

In all, 16 Choctaws earned All-Academic Team distinction, highlighting the department's commitment to success both in competition and in the classroom.

The Choctaws also saw widespread academic achievement across their spring sports programs, with 134 student-athletes named to the Gulf South Conference Academic Honor Roll. The honor roll recognizes all student-athletes who competed in outside competition and achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.

Mississippi Christian's honor roll recipients came from baseball, men's and women's golf, softball, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's outdoor track and field and women's outdoor track and field.

The strong showing reflects the continued emphasis on academic excellence throughout the Mississippi Christian athletic department, as Choctaw student-athletes once again ranked among the conference's top performers in the classroom.
