CLINTON, Miss. --- MC baseball student-athletes Alex Johnson, JT Thigpen, Cade Gadman and Ty Murphy were recognized Tuesday, June 2 for their success in the classroom and on the field, earning selection to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
 
The CSC Academic All-District program honors student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence academically while contributing significantly to their programs athletically. To qualify, nominees must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA while meeting competition requirements throughout the season.
 
MC placed four players on the Division II team following another strong year both in the classroom and on the diamond. It marks the third straight season with multiple members on the all-district team.
 
The four Choctaws helped the squad to second straight Gulf South Conference Tournament berth, the fifth since returning to Division II and a 28-24 overall record and a 21-12 mark in GSC, including its second series straight series victory over in-state foe Delta State and the first ever in Cleveland.
 
Academic All-District honorees now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with Academic All-America teams scheduled to be announced June 23.
