Kenny Bizot returned home on June 1, 2021, as he became the Director of Athletics at Mississippi College. He earned his Bachelor’s in Business Marketing from MC in December 1994 and received his Master’s in Communications in May 1995.
The New Orleans native holds more than 20 years’ experience in coaching and athletic administration as he previously was the men’s basketball head coach at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Miss.
Since returning to his alma mater, the athletic department has seen a resurgence in the M Club, the department’s alumni base. He serves on the University’s President’s and Dean’s Council.
Prior to his eight years at Co-Lin, Bizot was at the helm of the University of Texas at Tyler men’s basketball program for six seasons. During his time in the Lone Star State, he led the Patriots to the American Southwest Conference Tournament five of his six seasons and was the 2013 ASC East Division Coach of the Year. UTT posted a 79-76 mark during his tenure, including an 18-8 record during the 2012-13 campaign. Along with his coaching duties, he served as the Director of Marketing for the athletic department and was a member of the athletic executive committee.
No stranger to the Magnolia State, he spent several years coaching high school basketball along the central part of the state as he served as the boys’ basketball head coach at Jackson Preparatory, Hillcrest Christian School and landing his first head-coaching job at Porter’s Chapel in Vicksburg, where he also served as headmaster during his time.
After playing four seasons for Mississippi Sports Hall of Famer Mike Jones, Bizot stepped into a graduate assistant position with the program and later returned to serve as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, helping lead MC to a No. 2 national ranking. His recruiting classes posted a 119-35 mark during those five seasons and made three consecutive Sweet 16 appearances. During that span, the Choctaw claimed three ASC Championships, three east division crowns and advanced to the ASC title game all five seasons.
As an MC student-athlete, he earned the team's "Mr. Hustle" in each of his four seasons from 1990-94. He was also a two-time member of the Gulf South Conference All-Academic Team and returned in 2008 to be enshrined into the Mississippi College Sports Hall of Fame. Later, he earned the 2011-12 Alumni of the Year in the Communication Department.
