Blake Weir is in his fifth year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications at Mississippi College, where he oversees media relations for 17 varsity sports. He serves as the primary media contact for men’s basketball; men’s and women’s track & field and cross country; men’s and women’s tennis; men’s and women’s soccer; and softball. In addition, Weir supervises and mentors a staff of student interns while assisting with marketing initiatives and in-game presentation for softball, soccer, and basketball.

Throughout his tenure, Weir has played a key role in enhancing game presentation, fan engagement, and communication infrastructure at Mississippi College. He helped implement the ProPresenter scoreboard system in A.E. Wood Coliseum and introduced a streamlined, department-wide graphics package through BoxOut Sports. His ongoing focus is improving the overall experience for fans, student-athletes, and media partners through innovation, consistency, and efficiency.

Weir has overseen football and basketball video board operations using Motion Rocket, managing live-event execution and system functionality. Early in his tenure, football video board operations were controlled remotely from the Coliseum, presenting logistical challenges on game days. He assisted with transitioning to a more efficient structure by separating football and basketball systems—relocating football operations to the press box while maintaining basketball production within the Coliseum.

During the 2025–26 academic year, Weir led the renovation of the Coliseum control room, transforming it into Mississippi College’s first Athletic Communications Media Room. The renovated space now supports recruiting photo shoots, team photography, press conferences, interviews, and creative content production. He continues to assist with efforts to further streamline Coliseum video board operations by relocating control to a dedicated audio and production space.

In 2025, Weir helped implement and launch the Choctaw Rewards program in partnership with Snap! Mobile (FanX), creating a digital fan engagement platform that allows students and fans to check in at athletic events and earn reward points redeemable through a prize store. The initiative supports increased attendance, student engagement, and long-term fan loyalty.

Prior to joining Mississippi College, Weir served as Assistant Director for Sports Media at Jackson State University from 2019 to 2021. He supported the department during the nationally significant arrival of head football coach Deion Sanders, helping manage media relations and content during a period of unprecedented exposure. He also contributed to promotional efforts for high-profile student-athletes such as Thomas “Snacks” Lee and Ameshya Williams, aiding in an ESPY nomination and national coverage from outlets including ESPN, TMZ Sports, and Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take.

Weir began his career as a Marketing Intern with Mississippi State Athletics in 2016 before serving as a Graduate Assistant at Belhaven University in 2017, where he gained experience in athletic communications, content creation, and graphic design.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (Sport Management) from Mississippi State University and a Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Belhaven University.

Outside of athletics, Weir serves as a Deacon at First Baptist Church Madison and resides in Madison with his wife, Courtney, their son, Beckham, and their cat, Cooper. A former student-athlete, he earned a football scholarship to Holmes Community College in 2012 and is a graduate of Jackson Academy, where he competed in football, baseball, and track.
