CLINTON, Miss. —  Mississippi College men's basketball returns to action Saturday afternoon, opening its 2025–26 campaign with a Homecoming scrimmage against Northwest Mississippi Community College. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. inside A.E. Wood Coliseum.

The matchup marks the debut of first-year head coach Josh Brooks, who takes over the Choctaw program alongside assistants John Works, Terik Richardson, and Jordan Marshall. The new staff brings experience from both the junior college and NCAA levels as they aim to usher in a new era for MC basketball.

The Choctaws feature a strong mix of veteran leadership and new talent. Returning to anchor the frontcourt is senior forward Judah Land (Chanhassen, Minn.), a 6-foot-9 post presence known for his rebounding and interior defense. Senior Amari George (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Brody Davis (Madison, Ala.) add length and versatility in the paint.

In the backcourt, senior Tremaine Dixon (Raymond, Miss.) brings experience and energy at the point, while sophomore Skylen Williams (Omaha, Neb.) returns from last season. Junior guard Josh Holman (Madison, Miss.) and newcomer Jakob Vigneault (Montreal, Canada) round out a versatile group capable of stretching the floor.

Northwest Mississippi, coached by John Redman, brings a youthful but athletic lineup featuring returning scorer Zahir Gutierrez (Olive Branch, Miss.) and forward Tyler Henry (Lucedale, Miss.), joined by newcomers Tre Terrell (Tupelo, Miss.) and Ladarrius Brown (West Memphis, Ark.).

Saturday's contest gives fans a first look at the revamped Choctaws ahead of the 2025–26 regular season, which begins next month.
