TIGERSVILLE, S.C. --- The Mississippi College baseball team drops a 13-7 contest on Friday, Feb. 10 at No. 1 North Greenville University. MC (1-4) posted ten hits in the series opener. It marks back-to-back double-digit hit efforts.

Bridley Thomas led the offensive effort as he reached base four times in the affair. He recorded two hits, including a double, and drew a pair of walks. The Brandon, Miss., product scored three times.
Alex McWhorter and
JT Vance joined Thomas with multiple-hit performances. McWhorter and Vance each added a double to their ledgers as they finished the night with two hits.
Caleb Reese notched the only multi-RBI effort on the day as he plated a pair of runs.

Jackson Smith (0-1) was saddled with the setback in the game. The Raymond, Miss., native allowed three runs on three hits in two frames in relief. He also added a pair of strikeouts.

MC jumped on the board first with a run in its initial trip to the plate and added two more in the third to take a 3-0 lead through the first three frames.
Caleb Reese drove in two of the first three runs of the game while
JT Vance delivered Reese on a RBI-double to left center.

The run lead stood the Crusaders took their first lead of the game, 6-3, with a five-run fifth frame. Carter Dierdorf capped the frame with a three RBI double down the right field line. The Blue and Gold battled back in the top of the sixth with a trio of runs to knot the contest at 6-all.

The Red and Black responded with its second, five-run inning of the game as John Michael Faile sent a grand slam home run over the left center wall. It marked the second home run of the game as Pat Monteith hit a solo home run in the fourth inning to give the Crusaders their first run of the game.

NGU extended its lead with two runs in the bottom of the eighth as the Choctaw added the final blow with a 60-foot, infield double by Vance that plated Thomas in the top of the ninth.

Jalen Vasquez recorded a team-best four hits as six Crusaders recorded multi hits. Faile paced the squad with six RBI as he joined Vasquez with multi hits with three. Matthew Taubensee (1-0) grabbed the win as he allowed two hits and fanned one in 1.2 frames of relief.

The Choctaw close out the series on Saturday, Feb. 11 with a doubleheader slated for an 10 a.m. central start.
