CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College outdoor track and field teams added two more podium appearances to their ledgers in the second day of the Gulf South Conference Championships at James E. Parkman Track and Robison-Hale Stadium, including its first All-GSC accolade of the 2022 championships.

Tytavia Hardy and
Al Ferrill added to the Choctaws podium performances during the day. Hardy won the women's high jump with a leap of with a distance of 1.63 meters. The Pensacola, Fla., native added her fifth All-GSC honor as she grabbed first team laurels. The junior also clinched a spot in the 100 hurdle finals with a time of 14.50 – winning her heat and posting the second-best time of the day.

Ferrill placed third in the men's shot put. The Tickfaw, La., junior recorded a throw of 15.86 meters.

Sakari Faulkner became the first Choctaw to break the 12-meter mark to finish sixth in the women's shot put with a throw of 12.20 meters. Teammate
Kiara Vance finished eighth in the event with a toss of 11.58 meters.

Gabe Poulin opened the day with an eighth-place finish in the men's 10,000 meters as he clocked a time of 31:04.19. On the women's side of the 10K,
Madeline Campbell finished fifth overall as she posted a strong final 800 meters to record a time of 39:45.70.
Josie Whipp finished in sixth in the event with a 39:56.16.

Brynn Holbrook jumped a collegiate best 10.95 to finish eighth in the women's triple jump. Holbrook added to her busy day as she joined Hardy to qualify for the 100-hurdle finals with a time of 16.18.
Adrianna Burage rounded out the trio with a time of 17.84.

Shemar Patten and
Fabio Palmieri grabbed their sports in the men's 100 meters. Patten posted a time of 10.89 while Palmieri clocked a 10.97. Patten also grabbed a spot in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.13.
Ezra McCaw joined the women's 100 meters field as she clocked a 12.33 to win her heat.

Gabe Poulin and
Hunter Kurz finished eighth and ninth for the Choctaws in the men's 5,000 meters. Poulin led the duo with a time of 15:09.54 while Kurz clocked a 15:10.41.
Braedon Methvin placed 14th in the event with a time of 15:37.49.

In the final race of the day, Madeline rejoined the distance field as she clocked a time of 18:28.87 in the women's 5K to grab seventh place.
Norma Gutierrez finished 10th in the event with a time of 18:52.67.

The MC women are narrowly third after the first two days of events. The Choctaw men sit in fourth place overall following the first eight events.

The final day of the conference championships are scheduled for Saturday, May 7. The day opens with the men's pole vault, discus and the women's long jump and javelin at 10 a.m.
