BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- Mississippi College women's track and field delivered strong performances at the 2025 Gulf South Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at the Birmingham CrossPlex on Feb. 20-21.
Livia Fischer led the way for MC in the 60-meter dash, finishing sixth with a time of 7.90 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Hilary Udechukwu secured a third-place finish in 25.18 seconds, while Fischer placed seventh in 26.36 seconds.
Udechukwu also excelled in the 400-meter dash, clocking 56.36 seconds to win the event and claim the GSC title. Hannah Jackson (59.91) and Fischer (59.96) placed sixth and seventh, respectively, while Ann Cobb (1:00.90) finished ninth.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Madison Flugence (8.95) and Katie Gates (9.07) advanced to the finals, positioning MC well in the event.
Brookelyn Bidinger (2:25.58) and Shana Sellers (2:26.31) represented MC in the 800-meter run, finishing 11th and 13th, respectively.
Taylor Benoit delivered a podium finish in the 3,000-meter run, taking third with a time of 10:02.07. Freshmen Kinley Harris (10:25.32) and Kathryn Finch (10:38.33) also posted strong showings in the event. In the 5,000-meter run, junior Ava Wardlaw placed seventh in 18:05.59, with Harris (18:20.61) and Finch (18:29.46) following closely behind.
Mississippi College finished fourth in the team rankings with 69 points. The final standings were:

With several top finishes, the Lady Choctaws demonstrated their competitiveness against some of the best in the GSC. Mississippi College will now shift its focus to the outdoor season, where the team looks to build on its indoor success.
