CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College outdoor track and field teams wrapped up their 2022 regular season as it hosted the Mike McMillan Twilight Invitational on Thursday, April 28 at James E. Parkman Track. The Choctaws combined for 12 event titles.

Al Ferrill and
Kelechi Christian led the way for the Navy and Gold with a pair of individual event wins. Christian led the way in the women's sprints as she clocked a PR and school-record time of 24.44 in the 200 meters. She added her second program record as she posted a time of 56.97 in the 400 meters.

Ferrill took the top spot in the men's shot put with a throw of 15.99 meters and added a toss of 43.81 meters in the hammer. The Tickfaw, La., native set a personal record in the discus to finish second with a throw of 48.49 meters.

During the meet, the Choctaw coaching staff paused to honor its nine seniors,

Tytavia Hardy opened the meet with a season best and NCAA provisional mark jump of 12.01 meters to win the women's triple jump.
Victoria Myles set the school record in the women's hammer with a throw of 41.78 meters.
Dylan Hale continued the event wins in the field events as he claimed the men's javelin with a throw of 49.73 meters.

A trio of Choctaws hit NCAA provos in the men's 1,500 meters as
Hunter Kurz reset the school record with a time of 3:36.52 to lead the way as he won the event.
Cole Benoit clocked a time of 3:47.39 while
Christian Balcer recorded a 3:48.77

The men's 4x100 foursome of
Shemar Patten,
Will Grames,
Connor Stewart and
Fabio Palmieri won the relay with an NCAA provo mark and season best time of 40.90. Patten added to his event crowns as he took the top spot in the men's 200 meters with a lifetime mark of 21.77. The men's 4x400 relay team broke the school record as it posted the second fastest time in Division II. The quartet of Grames, Palmieri,
Wesley Gibbs and
Gabe Hodson clocked a time of 3:08.33.

MC swept the men and women's 800 meters crowns.
Jazmin Hernandez posted a time of 2:13.73 while
Wesley Gibbs took the top spot on the men's side with a NCAA, PR and school-record time of 1:49.76.
Ben Woolhouse posted a NCAA mark in the pole vault with a distance of 4.85 meters to finish second overall.

Mississippi College now turns its attention to the Gulf South Conference Championships. The Choctaws host the 2022 edition of the three-day event that is scheduled to start on Thursday, May 5.
