CLINTON, Miss.---The Mississippi College women's soccer team picked up three more All-South Region selections.
Emma Young was named United Soccer Coaches 1st team All-South Region.
Avery Hederman and
Beatrice Currie earned 2nd team USC All-South Region honors.
Emma Young (Lafayette, La.) adds another honor to her stellar season. She has also been named GSC Defensive Player of the Year, 1st team All-GSC, and D2CCA 1st team All-South Region. Young started every match this season for MC this season and was a part of a defensive unit that allowed just 14 goals on the season. She also helped lead MC to 8 shutouts on the year. Young also contributed 2 assists while leading MC in minutes played on the year with 1,601. She played the full match 15 times this season.
Avery Hederman (Jackson, Miss.) also adds another all region selection to her name this season after she was previously named D2CCA 1st team All-South Region. She was also a 1st team All-GSC selection. Hederman scored 6 goals on the season and also added 4 assists which was good for 2nd on the team in each category. She was also 3rd on the team in points with 16. Hederman was 3rd on the team in minutes played with 1,552 while also starting every match this season.
Beatrice Currie (Nova Scotia, Canada) picks up her second 2nd team All-South Region honor as she was also named D2CCA 2nd team All-South region. She was also a 1st team All-GSC selection this season. Currie scored 9 goals this season which lead the team and was top 5 in the GSC. She also added 3 assists on the year and led the team in points with 21. Her 21 points was also 4th in the GSC. Currie scored 2 game winning goals this season and also played in every match this season.
On the season, MC went 12-4-2 overall and finished 10-3 in GSC play which was good for the #2 seed in the GSC tournament. The Lady Choctaws also qualified for the NCAA Division II women's soccer tournament as the #4 seed in the South Region.
