CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's soccer team will open Gulf South Conference play this weekend when they travel to Livingston, Ala. to face West Alabama on Friday September 14, and then travel to Huntsville, Ala. on Sunday September 16 to face UAH.
MC NOTES
- The Lady Choctaws will bring an overall record of 2-1-0 into GSC play.
- MC is coming off of a 2-0 victory over Rockhurst last Friday in Memphis, Tenn. The team's Sunday match against Barry was canceled due to weather.
- The offensive for the Lady Choctaws has been a spread out attack early this season with five Lady Choctaws tied for the team lead in goals scored.

Jess Davenport,
Liza Wise and
Rita Okoro all have netted one goal so far in 2018.
- Pascoe leads the Lady Choctaws in the assists column with two assists so for this season. Pascoe has had an assist in two of the three games in 2018 and will look to continue her great start entering GSC play.
- In goal for the Lady Choctaws,
Gabby Kayser continues to improve from game to game. Kayser posted her first shutout of 2018 in the victory over Rockhurst, she recorded three saves in the match.
WEST ALABAMA NOTES
- The Tigers are bringing in an overall record of 2-1-1 into GSC play.
- UWA is coming of an impressive 4-0 victory over Albany State last Sunday. It was the third time in 2018 that the Tigers scored four goals in a match, they opened the season with a 4-0 victory on Aug. 30 over the Mississippi University for Women and then tied Tampa 4-4 in a bizarre meeting back on Aug. 31.
- The Tiger offense has been the strength of the team so far this season. UWA is out scoring their opponents 13 to 6. The team also has eight assists on the season and the Tigers have taken 21 corner kicks compared to their opponents 10.
- The players to watch for the Tigers are junior TaMia Pride and sophomore Anele Komani who both have netted four goals this season. Komani also has three assists for the Tigers this season.
UAH NOTES
- The Chargers will be bringing an overall record of 0-3-1 into GSC play.
- UAH is coming off its best result of the year this past Monday, a 1-1 tie against Division I opponent Alabama A&M.
- The Charger offense has struggled so far in 2018 with just three goals scored this season and they have allowed ten goals to their opponents.
- UAH does have three assists as a team this season and have had an assist on every goal in 2018. The team leader in assists is sophomore Annie Burd.
SERIES HISTORY
- MC will bring an all-time record of 3-2-0 into Friday's match with West Alabama. The last meeting between the two ended a 5-1 win for the Lady Choctaws in the 2017 GSC Tournament.
- The Lady Choctaws have an all-time record of 3-1-0 against UAH and will be looking to add to another win to that record this Sunday. In the last meeting between the two, MC was victorious by a score of 4-1.
MATCH COVERAGE
- Both matches will have live stats and live video (weather permitting). Friday's match against West Alabama is set for a 6:00 P.M. start time and coverage can be found on West Alabama's athletics website.
- Sunday's match against UAH is set of a 1:00 P.M. kick-off and coverage for the match will be available on UAH's athletics website.
