CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team returns to action on Tuesday, Apr. 26 as the Choctaws (15-28) travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to face William Carey in the first of four, road games to close out the 2016 campaign. First pitch at Milton Wheeler Field is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Tuesday's tilt marks the 40th in the series between the two schools. MC looks to pick up a season sweep over the Crusaders after taking a 6-3 win in Clinton on Mar. 22. WCU (34-15) leads the overall series 40-9.

The Navy and Gold were nipped in the weekend series against Lee University over the weekend. After splitting a doubleheader on Saturday, the Choctaws found themselves in a 13-0 hole on Sunday going into the bottom of the seventh. MC rattled off eight runs in the frame and added four more in the eighth to close the gap to one run heading into the bottom of the ninth, but couldn't overcome the deficit, falling 13-12.

A trio of Choctaws hit .500 over the weekend.
Hunter Bolin, who leads the team in batting average with a .389 clip and 58 hits, recorded a team-best six hits during the three-game stretch. The junior also tied
Blaine Crim with a team-leading four RBI. Crim and
Hunter Hall tied for second on the team in hits as they each went 4-for-8 over the weekend to join Bolin with a .500 average at the dish.

On the mound,
Samuel Harrison posted a 1.50 ERA in the Choctaws' win. The freshman tossed 6.0 innings as he allowed one earned run with five strikeouts and three walks. Harrison leads the team in strikeouts with 62 in his debut season and is second on the team in innings pitched with 73 frames.
Tyler Scholl picked up his third save of the season in the Saturday win. The senior made two appearances on the weekend combining for 2.0 innings of action with three strikeouts, one walk and one hit allowed without surrendering a run.

William Carey comes into the midweek tilt having won its last four outings and five of the last six. The Crusaders took a three-game series from Brewton-Parker over the weekend. Tuesday's contest marks the final home game for the Red and Black this season.

Tyler Odom leads WCU at the plate with a .400 batting average and is third on the team with 39 RBI. Tyler Richardson leads the squad in RBI with 47 and is hitting .341 on the season. J.D. Little, Kyle Deckwa and Mason Woodrow pace the Crusaders' pitching staff with 45-plus strikeouts on the season. Little leads the team with 53. Little and Woodrow have each tallied 60-plus innings on the bump.

Following the Tuesday affair, Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, Apr. 30 as the Choctaws travel to Cleveland, Miss., for a three-game, Gulf South Conference series against in-state foe Delta State. The series opening doubleheader is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start. Sunday's series finale is slated for 2 p.m.
