CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team returns to Gulf South Conference action this weekend as the Choctaws host Christian Brothers at Frierson Field. The series opens with a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 19 at 2 p.m. with the finale scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 20 at 1 p.m.
Saturday's opener marks the 14th meeting in the series between Mississippi College and Christian Brothers. CBU holds a slim 7-6 series advantage after winning the final two meeting last season in Memphis.

The Choctaws are 8-12 on the season and 2-9 in the Gulf South Conference following a conference, doubleheader split on Monday against Union.
Caleb Upton led MC at the plate hitting .667 (4-for-6) with three RBI, two runs scored and his first home run of the season. The Choctaws picked up a stellar outing from
Jake Fraze, who tied a season-long affair with 7.2 frames, in the win. The sophomore allowed just one run on six hits.
Will Elliott added two home runs in the twinbill to lead the team with three on the season.
Hunter Bolin took the top spot in batting average with a .385 clip as he has totaled a team-best 30 hits.
Logan Ferrell ranks second in hits (28) and batting average (.373). Upton leads the team with 14 RBI with
Blaine Crim second with 13. On the hill, Fraze has totaled a team-leading 41.0 innings and is second in strikeouts with 28.
Samuel Harrison leads the team with strikeouts with 35.
Christian Brothers enters the weekend with a 6-17 record after claiming a 6-4 win over Illinois Wesleyan. The Bucs are 0-12 in GSC play after series with West Alabama, UAH, Union and Valdosta State.
Lucas Castleberry leads CBU at the dish hitting .344 on the season. Michael Halley has a team-best 15 RBI and 23 hits while hitting .319 - third best on the team. Jack Parker, Peyton Sanderlin and Patrick Gurley lead the Bucs' hurlers. Parker leads the team with 34 strikeouts while Sanderlin is second with 19. The duo rank first and second in innings pitched with 30-plus on the season while Gurley is third with 23.2 frames and has 14 Ks on the year.
