Junior baseball player Brooks Fortenberry helped the Choctaws to a 2-1 victory over Hardin-Simmons by stiking out seven batters, with only one walk and one hit over 6.2 innings.

The Magee, Miss. native pitched 2.0 innings against Belhaven, striking out four batters and walking one. 

On the week, Fortenberry recorded a 1.04 ERA with 11 strikeouts, five hits and one earned run.

Fortenberry and the Choctaws will be back in action as they travel across town to face Millsaps on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in Jackson, Miss.
