Sophomore Victor Bazan has been named Mississippi College Renasant Bank Male Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Monday (Oct. 29).

Bazan (Lima, Peru) scored a pair of goals in the final two matches of the season for the men's soccer team. Both tallies gave the Choctaws leads that would last until late in the second half before the top two teams in the Gulf South Conference (West Florida and Spring Hill) came back to get 2-1 victories.

On the season, Bazan scored five goals, giving him 10 with three assists over his first two seasons in Clinton. He finished second on the 2018 with those five scores.

The Choctaws wrapped up their 2018 season at 6-7-1 and finished just one spot shy of the final spot in the Gulf South Conference Tournament.
