CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College baseball placed two standouts on the 2026 All-Gulf South Conference teams, as outfielder
Ty Murphy earned second-team honors and utility infielder
Cade Gadman was also named to the second team, the league office announced Wednesday, April 30.
Murphy has been a catalyst in the Choctaws' lineup, starting all 50 games while hitting .322 with a .460 on-base percentage. The junior outfielder totaled 55 hits, 40 runs scored and 23 RBI, adding 26 stolen bases, which is among the program's elite, and 28 walks to rank among the team's most consistent offensive threats.
One the league's most versatile players, Gadman, earned second-team recognition as a utility selection after appearing in 50 games across multiple positions. He batted .304 with a team-leading 63 hits and a team-high 35 RBI, which is second on the squad, while also contributing 33 runs scored. Murphy has seen action this season at three infield positions, splitting time between second and third base and logging some contests at short stop.
This marks the first all-conference nods for either player as they become the 26th and 27th All-GSC selections under head coach
Jeremy Haworth.
MC returns to action on Saturday, May 2 as it takes on No. 25 West Florida in the Gulf South Conference Tournament in Oxford, Ala. First pitch is 11 a.m.
