The Choctaws outshot the visiting team 19-8, with both teams' goalkeepers recording shutouts. Mississippi College's goalkeeper made four saves while the Badgers' goalkeeper tallied seven, ensuring a tense defensive standoff.
The first half opened with a defensive showcase, highlighted by
Celine Grothe's crucial save against a shot from Sofia Jimenez Garcia in the 22nd minute. Mississippi College had several attempts to break the deadlock, with
Parker St. Amant and
Olivia Graham testing Spring Hill's defense, but Carlotta Stark made key saves to maintain the scoreless tie. As the half concluded, the home side's resilient defense, including another save by Grothe on a Lauren Smith attempt, kept the game level at 0-0.
