CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College baseball continues to add to its list of postseason accomplishments as three standout Choctaws —
Bryce LaRocca,
Jordan Evans, and
Korey Cooper — have been named to the 2025 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-South Region Second Team, as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association on Tuesday, May 28.
This marks the third all-region selection this season for the trio.
LaRocca capped off a stellar senior season by hitting .356 with 16 home runs and 70 RBI, leading the team in both categories. His 16 home runs tied for second most in a single season in program history. The senior's 1.082 OPS and .631 slugging percentage underscored his consistent power, while he also showed strong plate discipline with 28 walks and 13 hit-by-pitches.
Evans was a sparkplug for the Choctaw offense, posting a .352 batting average and scoring a team-high 76 runs from the leadoff spot. He also contributed 13 home runs and 50 RBI, boasting an impressive 1.072 OPS. The junior led the team with 26 stolen bases and holds the top spot in the conference in hit by pitch, which stands 12th nationally.
Cooper proved invaluable with his versatility and production, playing both corners of the infield, hitting .348 with 12 home runs and 58 RBI. With a 1.016 OPS, .579 slugging percentage, and the ability to play multiple positions.
Mississippi College finished the season with 35 victories – the third most in program history – and advanced to the NCAA South I Regional Final, its third regional final in program history and the first during the program's Division II history.
