CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College baseball is in the NCAA Division II postseason conversation after the release of the first South Region rankings, which debuted on Wednesday, Apr. 22.
Â
The Choctaws are among the teams in contention in a competitive South Region field that includes nationally ranked programs such as Tampa, West Florida, West Alabama and Lee.
Â
The South Region will send eight teams to the NCAA Division II Tournament. Each conference tournament champion earns an automatic berth, while five additional teams will be selected as at-large bids based on regional performance. The eight-team regional field will ultimately determine a champion that advances to the Super Regional round, with a spot in the NCAA Division II College World Series on the line.
