CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College (4-3, 1-0 Gulf South) secured an 84-76 victory over Christian Brothers (1-5, 0-1 Gulf South) on Thursday night at A.E. Wood Coliseum. The Blue and Gold capitalized on 17 assists and scored 15 points off turnovers to maintain their lead.
Mississippi College opened the game and established an early lead, highlighted by
Avaughn Johnson's layup at the 18:24 mark to tie the score at 2-2.
DeMarcus Powe's 3-pointer and layup contributed to a 7-0 run, pushing the home team ahead early. MC maintained momentum with
Phil Nelson's scoring efforts, including a layup and a 3-pointer midway through the half, extending the lead to 16-10.
