CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College men's soccer earned a region-leading seven selections to the 2025–26 D2CCA All-South Region teams, the association announced this week. The Choctaws placed five players on the First Team and two on the Second Team—more than any program in either the Gulf South Conference or Sunshine State Conference.
Senior forward Lewis Matton and senior midfielder Sergio Garrido each repeated as First Team All-Region honorees, highlighting a dominant group of MC selections. They were joined on the First Team by freshman forward Russell Berko, junior defender Callum Lee, and junior defender Gage Sorey, giving MC the most First Team picks of any school in the region.
Senior goalkeeper Cole Turner and sophomore midfielder Alvaro Peña were named to the Second Team, rounding out MC's seven total honorees. Turner earns his first D2CCA All-Region selection after anchoring the Choctaws in net, while Peña continues to build on a strong early career with another postseason accolade.
The Gulf South Conference produced 15 D2CCA All-South selections overall, with Mississippi College accounting for eight of the league's first- and second-team honorees. MC's seven total picks were the most of any institution, followed by Palm Beach Atlantic (4), AUM (3), and West Florida (3).
Mississippi College now turns its attention to this weekend's NCAA Tournament action. The Choctaws travel to Boca Raton, Fla., to face Lynn in the NCAA South Region championship round. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. CST on Sunday, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
