HATTIESBURG, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's golf team closed out play at The Judson with its best round of the tournament, carding a 308 on Tuesday at Hattiesburg Country Club to secure an 11th-place team finish among a strong Division I field.
MC marked a 17-stroke improvement from the opening round as it closes out the fall season and looks towards the spring.
After battling tough conditions in the early rounds, the Choctaws found their rhythm on the final day behind
Allie Myers, who posted a team-best 73 (+1) in her closing round to climb into a tie for 44th overall at 234 (+18).
Ashlynd Madden also delivered her best performance of the tournament, shooting 74 (+2) in the final round to place 50th at 238 (+22).
Sydney Moss (242, +26) and
Sofia Mendez (243, +27) followed closely behind, while Fran Herrera Tallone rounded out MC's lineup. Competing individually, Ana Quintanilla Gutiérrez matched Myers' low round of 73 (+1) to finish tied for 46th at 235 (+19).
The Choctaws return to action on Monday, Feb. 23 as it competes in the Lenoir Rhyne hosted LR Dukes West Invitational.Â
