LAKELAND, Fla. --- JT Vance continues to add to his preseason award ledger as he was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-South Region Team as announced by the association on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
 
Vance is one of six players from the conference on the NCBWA preseason list.
 
This marks the second preseason accolade for the senior adding on to his preseason All-Gulf South Conference honor earlier this month. Vance earned first team all-conference laurels at the end of the 2024 campaign.
 
The Union, Miss., native led the team with a .359 batting average, 61 hits and 52 RBI during the season along with his team-best 14 home runs. He totaled 12 doubles, which was second most on the team. His all-conference accolade last season was the second of his career. The senior sits among the career top 10 leaders in slugging percentage, home runs and triples.
 
Vance was a NCBWA All-American Honorable Mention last season along with earning three all-region awards.
 
Mississippi College opens the 2025 season on Friday, Jan. 31 in the Houston Astros Winter Invitational. The Blue and Gold meet the University of Arkansas at Monticello in the first game of the three-day weekend in the Lone Star State. First pitch against UAM is 10 a.m. at Daikins Park.
