CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College fell short in a hard-fought Gulf South Conference matchup against Union University on Thursday night, losing 72-64 at A.E. Wood Coliseum.
Rashad Bolden led the Choctaws (6-12, 2-10 GSC) with a game-high 21 points, shooting 9-of-23 from the field and adding five rebounds and two steals. Ty Briscoe contributed 10 points and was perfect from the free-throw line, while Judah Land added nine points and grabbed a key block off the bench.
Union (11-7, 7-5 GSC) benefited from a balanced scoring attack, with Parker Applegate recording a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. C.J. Jackson added 15 points, and Isaiah Victor came off the bench to contribute 15 points, including five three-pointers.
The Choctaws was out-rebounded 38-32. Union capitalized on second-chance opportunities, scoring nine points off offensive rebounds, and shot an efficient 45.8% from the field.
Mississippi College will look to bounce back on Saturday, Jan. 25, when they host Christian Brothers University at 4 p.m. at A.E. Wood Coliseum. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Choctaws as they continue GSC play.
