Bolden’s Career Night With 41 Points Lifts Choctaws to Victory Over CBU in GSC Win

CLINTON, Miss. — Rashad Bolden erupted for a career-high 41 points on Saturday, leading Mississippi College to a 65-53 victory over Christian Brothers University at A.E. Wood Coliseum. The win broke an eight-game losing streak for the Choctaws and marked their first win since early December.

Bolden, who was unstoppable throughout the game, shot 14-of-33 from the field, including 4-of-11 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 9-of-9 from the free-throw line. His 41 points marked the first time a Choctaw had scored 40 or more since Tradavis Thompson's 47-point performance in December 2022.

The Choctaws (7-12, 3-10 Gulf South Conference) opened the game with a strong first half, taking a 37-30 lead into the break. Christian Brothers (7-12, 3-10 GSC) struggled with turnovers, committing 21 over the course of the game, which MC capitalized on, turning those into 28 points.

Mississippi College's defense continued to shine in the second half, limiting the Buccaneers to just 23 points while Bolden kept the offense clicking. Skylen Williams added four points and three rebounds, while Odis Carter provided a spark off the bench with nine points on 4-of-6 shooting.

The win is a significant one for the Choctaws, who had been on a tough stretch but now have a chance to build momentum moving forward. With the victory, Mississippi College improves to 7-14 on the season and 3-10 in Gulf South play.

The Choctaws will look to continue their winning ways when they travel Montevallo on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Montevallo, Ala.
