MONTEVALLO, Ala. — In a challenging Gulf South Conference showdown, Mississippi College faced a tough loss on Saturday, falling to Montevallo with a final score of 78-66 at the Student Activity Center in Montevallo, Alabama.
The Choctaws started the game strong, posting 32 points in the first half, but Montevallo managed to pull ahead with a 45-point second half, securing the victory.
Despite the efforts of Rashad Bolden, who scored 22 points, and Cam Brown, who contributed 18 points, Mississippi College couldn't secure a victory against Montevallo.
TJ Wallace added 15 points in the loss and DeKyre Fuller had 8 points on the evening. Brown also had 8 rebounds in 38 minutes of play.
The Choctaws now prepare for their next game as they remain in 5th place in the current GSC standings with an overall record of 11-10 record and 10-7 in GSC play.
They return to action on Thursday, February 8, where they take on West Alabama at home with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m. at the A.E. Wood Coliseum in Clinton, Miss.
