CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College dominated Thursday evening's matchup with West Alabama in a battle of No. 5 MC in the Gulf South Conference standings and the No. 4 GSC standing Tigers, winning by a final score of 66-44.
TJ Wallace initiated the scoring for the Choctaws. Following Wallace's score, it was all West Alabama as they went up by seven points, led by Thaddeus Williams with nine points.
West Alabama maintained the lead for over 10 minutes until the Choctaws began clawing back, aided by junior forward DeKyre Fuller's first half team-high 11 points and 5-6 shooting from the field, helping them retake the lead 26-24 at halftime.
The Choctaws came out firing on all cylinders in the second half, with Bolden's big three-pointer at the 13-minute mark extending the lead to ten points, 41-31, over West Alabama.
Bolden started cooking, as he flourished in the second half, finishing with a 4-course meal as he going as he finished going 11-of-22 for 31 points, elevating with 26 second half points along with grabbing 8 rebounds.
Fuller made his presence felt on both ends of the court, tallying 17 points on an impressive 7-of-8 shooting performance, including 1-of-2 from three-point range. He also grabbed 6 rebounds and added a steal to his stat line.
Cam Brown played a vital role in the victory, contributing 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting, along with 7 rebounds and a block.
Daquarius Harris provided a strong inside presence, hauling in 8 rebounds to go along with his 4 points.
The Choctaws improve to 12-10 overall on the season and 11-7 in GSC play. They will be back in action on Saturday, at the A.E. Wood Coliseum at 4 p.m. as they host the Chargers of UAH.
