CLINTON, Miss. – The Mississippi College women's soccer team faced a challenging matchup on Friday evening, suffering a 2-0 loss to Valdosta State University at Arrow Field at Clinton High School. The defeat puts the Lady Choctaws at 7-5-3 overall and 3-5-3 in Gulf South Conference play.
After a scoreless first half, Valdosta State broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute when Maria Rojas found the net, marking her fifth goal of the season. Jocelyn Oballe sealed the victory for the Blazers with a second goal in the 83rd minute, ensuring a clean sheet for Valdosta State.
Despite a strong defensive effort, the Lady Choctaws struggled to convert their chances. They recorded 11 shots, with four on target, but were unable to find the back of the net. Valdosta State, in contrast, capitalized on their opportunities, finishing with 12 total shots and four on goal.
