CLINTON, Miss. – The Mississippi College women's soccer team secured a 2-0 victory over the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) on Sunday in Gulf South Conference play. The win improved the Choctaws' record to 7-2-3 (3-2-3 GSC), while UAH fell to 5-6-2 (4-3-2 GSC).
The Choctaws struck early, with Paula Catalan scoring just 5 minutes and 49 seconds into the match, assisted by Kennedy Mendoza. Mississippi College maintained the momentum throughout the first half, leading 1-0 at the break.
In the second half, Irene Lores doubled the lead in the 65th minute, finding the net with an assist from Caroline Naman. The Choctaws' defense held strong, allowing only four shots on goal from UAH while goalkeeper Jessi Carro recorded four saves.

UAH managed a total of 16 shots but struggled to convert, as the Choctaw defense remained resolute. Mississippi College did not earn any corner kicks in the match, but their efficiency in scoring made the difference.
