HUNTSVILLE, Ala. --- Mississippi College took on UAH in GSC road action on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Chargers by a final score of 81-63 at Spragins Hall.
The Choctaws opened up the first half of action trailing from behind, as they took a 40-22 deficit into the break. Despite a stronger performance in the second half, scoring 41 points, MC couldn't overcome the early deficit, resulting in a final score of 63-81.
Lucas Heflen played for 31 minutes, making 6 out of 16 field goal attempts, with 6 successful three-pointers, securing 2 offensive and 4 defensive rebounds, totaling 18 points.
Rashad Bolden, in his 36 minutes on the court, went 6 for 17 in field goals, hitting 1 three-pointer out of 8 attempts, making all 4 free throws, grabbing 4 offensive and 3 defensive rebounds, and contributing 17 points, 7 assists, and 1 steal.
Dekyre Fuller played for 25 minutes, making 5 of 12 field goal attempts, missing both of his three-point shots, and going 1 for 1 in free throws, with 2 offensive rebounds and a total of 11 points.
Cam Brown, who played for 29 minutes, went 3 for 8 in field goals, making 3 three-pointers out of 6 attempts, but struggled with free throws, missing all 4 attempts. He secured 4 offensive and 1 defensive rebound, contributing 9 points and 2 assists in the game.
As a team, they concluded the game with a 35.4% field goal percentage (23-65), 32.3% from beyond the arc (10-31), and a 63.6% success rate in free throws (7-11).
With the loss, Mississippi College falls to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the Gulf South Conference. They return to action on Tuesday where they take on non-conference opponent Dallas Baptist in road action at 2 p.m. in Dallas, Texas.
