DALLAS, Texas --- In a hard-fought battle on the court, Mississippi College faced off against non-conference opponent Dallas Baptist, ultimately falling short with a final score of 99-78.
Both teams played a competitive first half of action with Dallas Baptist maintaining a nine-point advantage going into the break with the score 46-37.
The Choctaws scored 41 points in the second half, but DBU's 53 point half gave the home team the ultimate 99-78 win in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon.
Rashad Bolden led the scoring charge with 31 points on 8-of-19 shooting from the floor, making 12-of-14 free throws. He also had three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Cam Brown contributed 17 points with three 3-pointers made in 36 minutes of action. He also had two blocks and three steals.
TJ Wallace was third on the team with 14 points scored om 5-of-8 shooting from the field. In the first half, Mississippi College shot 38.71% from the field, while maintaining a perfect 100.00% from the free-throw line.
The second half witnessed an improved 50.00% field goal percentage Overall, the Choctaws concluded the game with a 43.4% field goal percentage and an impressive 92.9% success rate from the free-throw line. MC added 22 points off of the bench.
Mississippi College falls to an overall record of 5-7 following a competitive matchup. The Choctaws get a few days for the Christmas break before regrouping for their next game, slated for December 31 at the A.E. Wood Coliseum, where they will go head-to-head against Shorter with tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
