CLINTON, Miss. --- Mississippi College's
Lydia Paulette and
Londyn Bakeris were honored by the Gulf South Conference as the volleyball duo earned conference weekly awards for their individual performances during the Division II South Region Crossover over the weekend in Orlando, Fla.

Paulette garnered her third GSC Offensive Player of the Week award and fifth of her career while Bakeris picked up her first accolade of the season as she was tabbed the conference's defensive player of the week.

Paulette set the school-record for kills in a match with 24 against Florida Southern College as she tied for tops among participants in total kills with 53. The previous school record was 23 set by former Choctaw
Kendall Platt in 2018. The Tuscaloosa, Ala., native averaged 4.42 kills per set, which was third amongst the field. The junior averaged 4.63 points per set, which was fifth overall, while she totaled 55.5 points – third highest for the event.

Bakeris led the entire Crossover field with 60 digs. The Olive Branch, Miss., product averaged 5.0 digs per set, which ranked second. The junior started the weekend off with a career-high 26 digs against Saint Leo University and wrapped up her weekend with another stellar performance at libero with 25 digs against Florida Southern.

MC has garnered a conference weekly award in five of the seven weeks this season (Paulette, 3;
Caroline Chastang, 2). Bakeris becomes the first defensive player to grab an award since
Sloane FitzHenry last season on Nov. 7.

Mississippi College returns to GSC play on Wednesday, Oct. 25 as it hosts the University of Alabama in Huntsville for High School Night. First serve is at 6 p.m.
