MONTEVALLO, Ala. --- Mississippi College fell to the University of Montevallo in straight sets on Tuesday night at Central State Bank Arena, closing out the 2025 season.

Mary Grace Foster posted a balanced performance with nine kills and 15 assists, contributing significantly to the team's overall efforts.
Meg Paparella led the scoring with 11 kills and added a service ace to her tally.
Samarin Kipple was a defensive standout with 18 digs, providing stability on the back line.
Reese Regner facilitated the offense efficiently, recording 15 assists and supporting the defense with eight digs.

The first set started with the Blue and Gold taking an early lead due to attack errors by UM, resulting in a score of 4-1. The Choctaws sustained momentum with key plays, including a kill by
Emma Levingston and consecutive kills from Foster, extending the advantage to 8-3. Despite some errors, MC managed to stay in front, as Paparella and
Rhaia Davey contributed with critical kills, pushing the score to 12-6. However, the Purple and Gold rallied back, narrowing the gap to 16-15 through a series of attack errors by MC. The Falcons concluded with 25-21 victory after capitalizing on further attack errors and a final kill by Danielle Greene.

MC showed resilience in the second set, briefly take the lead at 3-1. Despite Montevallo's response that tied the score at 6-all, the Blue and Gold regained control with a series of kills from Levingston and Paparella, advancing to an 11-10 lead. The set saw a back-and-forth battle, with MC fighting to keep the score close with crucial contributions, including
Ellie Foco's kill to level at 13-all. However, UM capitalized on late opportunities to edge forward, eventually closing the set with a 25-21 victory. The Falcons' consistent pressure in the latter part proved decisive in this set.

The Choctaws faced a challenging third set against UM, falling behind early due to a series of service aces from Eliza Tyrrell, which contributed to a 7-0 run for the home team. Despite the initial setback, The Blue and Gold briefly halted the momentum with a kill by Foster, bringing the score to 8-2. Later in the set, MC mounted a series of plays to close the gap, highlighted by consecutive kills from Paparella and Davey. However, UM maintained their lead, ultimately closing the set with a kill by Maggie McColley to secure a 25-14 victory.
MC closes out the season with an 11-20Â record and its sixth consecutive GSC Tournament appearance.
