CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team jumped back into the win column on Tuesday, March 29 as it stepped out of Gulf South Conference action and claimed an 11-6 win over William Carey University. MC improved to 12-19. The Crusaders fall to 20-11 on the campaign.

Three Choctaws notched multiple hits on the day led by
Tristan Tigrett with three hits and six RBI.
Markarius Lee joined Tigrett with three hits.
Cody Crifasi added a pair of hits and added a multi-RBI performance with a pair.

Truitt Smith (1-0) picked up his first win on the mound as he tossed 1.2 frames out of the bullpen. He struck out one and allowed just one run on two hits.
Cooper Gadman (1) notched a save as he tossed four frames in relief with two hits allowed and four strikeouts.

Tigrett got the scoring started for the Choctaws with a two-RBI, double in the bottom of the second. Brooks Itailano and Jackson Breed love also drove in runs during the frame to help MC gain a 4-1 advantage. However, the Crusaders rallied to knot the game at 4-all in the top of the fourth.

Tigrett broke the deadlock home half of the fourth and put the Navy and Gold on top for good with a two-run home run – his second home run of the season. The Brandon, Miss., native added his final two RBI of the night in the bottom of the fifth. Lee also added an RBI during the frame.

Following WCU with two runs in the sixth, the final Choctaw blow came on Crifasi's two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth.

Mississippi College returns to GSC action on Friday, Apr. 1 as it travels to the University of Alabama in Huntsville. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
