MISSISSIPPI STATE, Miss. --- Mississippi College bolstered its action at the Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays on Friday, March 25 on the campus of Mississippi State University. Several Choctaws posted personal bests while one school record fell in athlete's debut in the event.

Ava Dickerson reset the program record in the women's 3,000-meter, steeplechase. Dickerson posted a time of 12:05.10 in the event as she took fourth place. It's the first time ever the Canton, Miss., native has competed in the steeple.
Breann Bell finished fifth in the event with a time of 12:23.68.

Sakari Faulkner and
Kiara Vance got the day started for the Navy and Gold in the women's discus. Faulkner set a PR with a distance of 34.96 meters to take 14th in the event. Vance recorded a throw of 37.18 – a season-best – to claim eighth overall.

Adrianna Burage added a season-best in the field as she finished 12th in the women's high jump with a leap of 1.50 meters. Also, in women's field activity,
Tytavia Hardy finished eighth in the women's triple jump with a distance of 11.33 meters.

The lone men's competitor in the field was
Al Ferrill, who took eighth in the men's discus with a toss of 45.38 meters.

On the track,
Josie Whipp finished fifth in the women's 5,000 meters with a PR time of 17:58.11 while
Madeline Campbell finished 10th with a time of 18:13.83.
Kelechi Christian added to the women's PRs during the day as she clocked a time of 57.20 in the 400 meters to take seventh in the event.
Ereyonna Gore posted a time of 59.18 in the event for 19th.

Also, on the women's end of the track, the foursome of
Jazmin Hernandez,
Emma Langley,
Leslie Baxter and
Kathy Hammond took silver in the 4x800 relay. The group recorded a time of 9:32.11 to finished behind Mississippi State with a time of 9:14.74.

The men's 4x800 squad also grabbed. The quartet of
Wesley Gibbs,
Brock Kelly,
Jake Russell and
Cole Benoit clocked a time of 7:38.97 to finish behind the Bulldogs' pairing, which recorded a time of 7:36.28.

Four Choctaws finished in the top 10 in the men's 400 meters led by
Fabio Palmieri with a time of 48.60, which put him in fifth place.
Gabe Hodson took ninth in the event with a time of 49.58.
Will Grames finished 24th (50.63) while
Connor Stewart finished 29th (51.58).

The MC men also placed two in the top 10 of the 5,000 meters.
Braedon Methvin posted a season-best time of 15:06.70 to claim fourth in the event.
Preston Speed notched a PR time of 15:53.17 to finish 10th.
Hollis Johnson finished in the 18th (16:13.28) with
Chris Webber in 22nd (16:22.31).
