LEXINGTON, Ky. ---  Mississippi College's Lexie Laurendine added to her list of career accomplishments as she was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region Team on Wednesday, Nov. 23. She becomes the first player in program history to be named to the AVCA list.

Earlier this month, the Clinton, Miss., native was selected to the 2022 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-South Region Volleyball Team - also a first in the program.

Laurendine helped guide the Choctaw to their best season in program history with a 23-7 mark and the No. 3 seed in the Gulf South Conference Tournament.
 
She etched her name into the volleyball record book as she stands the all-time assists leader with 2,881 and is one of three MC players to earn all-conference three consecutive years, as she claimed first team laurels this season.
 
She concludes her career ranked in the top 10 in the program in nine categories, including sets (480) and matches played (128) , service aces (135), points (964.5), digs (1,054), kills (750) and block assists (117). She currently stands fifth in the GSC in assists (711) and sixth in assists per set (6.0) as a setter, but is fourth in the league in hitting percentage (.324) and finishes first in triple-doubles (2), a category she led the conference in in five seasons on the floor.
 
Along with her success on the court, she is also a four-time GSC Academic Honor Roll selection. She received her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology in May 2022 and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Athletic Administration.
 
Each of the eight region named 14 student-athletes to the all-region team with six players receiving honorable mention recognition. Five players from the GSC were named to the AVCA All-Region list.
