HOW IT HAPPENED
- After holding a 3-2 lead through the first inning, Mississippi College plated 13 runs in the second to expand its lead to 16-2 through its first two at-bats. The Choctaws belted four home runs during the frame. Duplechain started the scoring with a grand slam and added a two-run home run later in the at-bat. McGrew posted the first of his two homers with a three-run shot sandwiched between Duplechain's pair. Ken Scott capped the home run barrage with a solo shot.
- Union responded with five runs in the home half of the second and closed the gap to 16-7.
- After scoreless third and fourth frames, the Navy and Gold added four more runs in the fifth. Jaron Harris drew a bases-loaded walk to plate Reese and Kennedy followed with his second, RBI-scoring hit of the day with a two-run single. McGrew capped the frame with the fifth and final home run of the day for the Choctaws, with a solo shot.
- The Bulldogs added one more in the bottom of the seventh as Trey Frierson singled to score A'Darius Pugh.

ON THE MOUND
