TOUGALOO, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team fell 58-50 in non-conference action at Tougaloo College. The setback snapped a three-game win streak for the Choctaws (4-2). TC improved to 6-6 on the campaign.

NeNe Williams paced the Navy and Gold in the scoring column with nine points. She also grabbed seven boards, which stood tied for second on the team along with
Ally Alford. It marked a season-high for Alford.
Amelia Bell paced MC on the glass with a season-high nine rebounds.

The Choctaws shot 31.3 percent from the field in the loss, but managed just a clip of 47.6 from the charity stripe. MC held the advantage on the glass in the game as it grabbed 52 rebounds. The Bulldogs managed just 29 boards.

Tougaloo managed shooting 29.8 percent from the field, but connected on 67.7 percent from the free-throw line. Orlandrea McGee and Shawanda Gray scored in double figures to lead the Bulldogs. McGee led the way with 14 points while Gray chimed in 13. Morgan Hunter and Geonna Marshall led TC with six rebounds apiece.

MC, which led by nine points at the end of the first 10 minutes of action, held a 22-17 advantage at the break. The Choctaws held TC to just four points in the opening quarter, but were outscored 13-9 in the second stanza and holding the five-point margin at the break. Both squads struggled from the field in the first 20 minutes. MC, which connected on 26.7 percent, limited Tougaloo to just 16 percent in the half as the Bulldogs made just five baskets from the field.

The Bulldogs wiped away the deficit in the third quarter as it outscored MC 26-18 and took a 43-40 lead into the final period of play. The Red and Blue added to its margin as it outscored the Choctaws by five points in the fourth. Both teams' percentage from the field improved in the second half. TC posted a 46.2 clip in the second half while MC shot 35.3 percent.

Mississippi College returns to action on Thursday, Dec. 2 as it hosts the University of West Alabama in the Gulf South Conference opener. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.

- Mississippi College has grabbed 50-plus rebounds in back-to-back contests this season. The Choctaws grabbed a season-high 54 boards at Lane College on Nov. 23 and followed the performance with 52 against the Bulldogs on Monday evening.
- Along with the 50-plus rebound performance, tt's the first time that the Choctaws had 50 or more rebounds in two games in a season since the 2019-20 campaign. MC logged three contests during that season, including a season-high 62 against Tougaloo on Nov. 30, 2019.
- Tougaloo amassed just four points in the first 10 minutes of the game. That marks a first-quarter low and matches a quarter-low for an opponent this season. The fewest points in the first quarter for an opponent this season was seven set by LeMoyne-Owen and tied by Tuskegee University. The fewest points in a quarter this season by an opponent was four points by LeMoyne-Owen in the third period in the season opener.

Amelia Bell recorded her fourth contest this season as the Choctaws' leading rebounder. That stands as the most for any MC player this season. The season-high matched her totals against LeMoyne-Owen (Nov. 12) and at Lane College (Nov. 23).
