CLEVELAND, Tenn. --- MC women's basketball dropped a 71-38 decision at Lee University on Saturday, Feb. 21. The Choctaws move to 9-17 on the season and 8-13 in Gulf South Conference action while Lee improves to 17-8 and 13-7 in the conference.

Mariam Olawoyin led the scoring with 11 points and recorded four steals while
Karly Ivy added six points, converting all four of her free throw attempts.

MC battled through a tough shooting start, hitting just one of its first 10 attempts in the opening quarter as the Lady Flames built an 18-4 lead. LU capitalized on turnovers early, but the Blue and Gold found some rhythm at the free-throw line in the second quarter, converting 7-of-9 attempts to help steady the offense, though LU carried a 38-19 advantage into halftime behind strong rebounding and bench production.

The Choctaws continued to compete in the second half, forcing 13 turnovers over the final two quarters, but struggled to find consistency from the field as LU extended its lead. The Lady Flames used efficient shooting and a rebounding edge to secure the 71-38 win, while the Blue and Gold showed defensive effort throughout, particularly in generating steals and extra possessions.

Bailey Burgess led with 12 points, converting 4 of 6 from beyond the arc. Libby Privett also scored 12 points, adding one steal and one assist. Hannah Jones contributed 10 points, led the defense with four steals, and secured five rebounds. Baylee Delbridge paced the Flames on the boards with 12 rebounds, including nine defensive.
