CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball teams returns to action on Wednesday, March 27 as it hosts the University at Arkansas at Monticello. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. The contest is the first of four straight at Frierson Field at Dickins-Scoper Stadium for the Navy and Gold.

Wednesday marks the 31st meeting between the two schools and the first since April 17, 2018. The Choctaws hold an 18-12 record against UAM after the two teams split their meetings last season. The Boll Weevils claimed the last contest with a 10-5 victory in Clinton. The series against UAM dates back to 1989 when the two teams met four times with each winning two contests.
 
The Choctaws look to win their sixth out of their last nine outings, including winning five of its last six, Gulf South Conference outings. MC swept a three-game series from at Lee University two weekends ago and claimed two of three at Auburn-Montgomery last weekend.
 
Mississippi College is 38-22 against members of the Great American Conference in program history and sports a 3-1 record against the GAC this season with a three-game sweep at Harding to open the season and falling 12-6 against Southern Arkansas on Feb. 26. The Choctaws have a return to SAU later this season along with a doubleheader at Henderson State on Apr. 9.
 
A quartet of Choctaws lead the way at the plate, including three seniors on the squad. Blaine Crim, Grant Barber, and Billy Cameron along with junior Chauncey Callier sit atop the team in batting average with plus-.300 clips. Crim leads the team with RBI, hits, doubles and home runs on the season. Barber sits second on the team in average and doubles with Cameron second in home in home runs and tied for second in RBI with Callier, who ranks third on the team in doubles and home runs.
 
UAM enters the midweek tilt with a 16-8 record and riding a 10-game win streak. The Boll Weevils are 2-1 against members of the GSC this season with wins against Christian Brothers and Union. The lone blemish against the GSC came on Feb. 13 in a 2-1 loss to Delta State.
 
The Green and White are led at the plate by Cade Thompson. Thompson sports a .424 batting average with 25 hits and 11 RBI on the season. Jordan Johnson paces the squad with 35 hits and is tied for fourth in RBI with 15. Brodie Threet leads the team with 19 RBI this season.
 
Following the midweek affair, Mississippi College returns to action on Saturday, March 30 as it hosts the University of Montevallo in a three-game, GSC weekend series. First pitch of Saturday's twinbill is slated for 2 p.m.
