CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College women's basketball team opens its home portion of 2018-19 season on Tuesday, Nov. 13 as it hosts Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference member, Lane College. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
GAME NOTES
• Tuesday's game marks the seventh meeting between the Dragons and Lady Choctaws. MC holds a 5-1 record in the series. Lane snapped the win streak on Nov. 19, 2016 gaining its first win in the series.
• The Lady Choctaws had three players score in double figures led by 14 points from
Zariah Matthews and
Zan Ratcliffe. The scoring mark ties a career-high for Ratcliffe.
Coco Hobson scored 11 points in her Mississippi College debut.
• After Friday's game at Miles College, Mississippi College is 18-6 in season openers under head coach
Paul Allen Duke. Duke's squads posted a 10-game, win streak in lid lifters from 1997-2006. MC is 7-4 in openers on the road.

Lindsey Vaughn and
Kirsten Thompson joined Hobson in marking their MC debuts. Vaughn posted six points, going 2-for-2 from behind the arc, with three rebounds. Thompson scored on her only attempt of the game and added a board in seven minutes on the floor.

Emery Wilson tied a career-high with in steals at Miles College on Friday as the junior added two swipes.
• Tuesday evening's contest marks the first of four straight at A.E. Wood Coliseum for the Lady Choctaws to close out the month of November. MC welcomes LeMoyne-Owen College, Arkansas-Monticello and opens GSC play against Montevallo during the homestand.
• The Tuesday night affair marks the season opener for Lane College. The Dragons claimed an exhibition outing at Alcorn State, 70-58, but fell 98-57 at North Alabama on Saturday to close out exhibition play.
• The contest for Lane is the first of three straight on the road. The Dragons travel to Birmingham, Ala., on Nov. 16 to face Oakwood University before closing out the Miles College Lady Bears Tip-Off Classic against Delta State on Nov. 17.
• Antrice McCoy returns as the leading scorer for LC. The senior led the squad with 11.9 points per game last season.
Mississippi College is a private Christian university located in Clinton, Mississippi with an enrollment of over 5,000 students. MC recently finished their transition process back to NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference and will be competing for conference and national championships in the 2018-19 academic year.
