CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College men's basketball team will put a four-game winning streak on the line when they hit the road for a pair of tough road games at West Florida (Jan. 7) and Valdosta State (Jan. 9).
The Choctaws (7-5, 4-3 GSC) will face the nationally-ranked Argonauts (12-1, 4-1 GSC) on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the UWF Field House, while they will battle the Blazers (11-2, 4-1 GSC) on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. (Central).

THE SERIES
This will be the 11th all-time meeting between MC and UWF with the Argos holding a 6-4 edge in the series, including winning both contests last season. Overall, the Choctaws have dropped three straight after winning four consecutive games in the series. MC's last win came on December 17, 2015 (84-82).
This will be the 34th all-time meeting between MC and VSU with the Choctaws holding a 17-16 edge in the series, despite the Blazers winning three straight. Last season, MC took the GSC regular season champions into double-overtime before falling 100-98 in Clinton.

Donovan Ham (13.1 ppg) led MC with a season-high 25 points, while senior
Antonio Johnson (12.1 ppg) tied career-highs with eight rebounds and eight assists to go along with 16 points.
The Choctaws (82.9 ppg) are 4th in the Gulf South Conference in scoring and are 5th in rebounding margin (+3.0). MC is 2nd in the league in blocked shots (4.2) and 3rd in assists (17.9) per game.
Senior
Stacey Mack (15.8 ppg, 7.5 rpg) is the leading scorer and rebounder for the Choctaws, shooting 51% from the floor and 76% from the free throw line. Senior
Xavion Dillon (10.7 ppg) is the fourth MC player to average in double-figure scoring and leads the team with 15 blocked shots.

WEST FLORIDA (12-1, 4-1 GSC)

The Argonauts, led by third-year head coach Jeff Burkhamer, opened the season with a school-record 12 straight wins before suffering their first loss of the season last time out at Lee University, 69-68. The last undefeated team in the GSC shot just 9-of-19 from the free throw line in the loss.
Darryl Tucker (16.0 ppg, 10.6 rpg) is the only player in the conference to average a double-double this season and is shooting 63% from the floor. Tucker also has a team-high 18 blocks.
Moter Deng (14.5 ppg), Marvin Jones (13.0 ppg), Rashaan Benson (12.2 ppg) and DJ Thorpe (11.2 ppg) are all averaging in double-figures with Benson averaging a team-high 5.1 assists per game.

VALDOSTA STATE (11-2, 4-1 GSC)

The Blazers, led by 12th-year head coach Mike Helfer, have also won four straight games and are a perfect 6-0 at The Complex in 2017-18. Last time out, VSU went on the road and took down Shorter, 91-77, thanks to a combined 55 points from KJ James (32) and Beau Justice (23).
VSU is the top scoring offense (95.6 ppg) in the Gulf South Conference but rank 13th in scoring defense (83.3 ppg). Five different players are scoring in double-figures, led by Justice (19.6 ppg) and Tyrone Sam (18.6 ppg), but Sam has not played since December 12th against Fort Valley State.
James (15.8 ppg) is also the team's leading rebounder with 7.2 boards per contest. Winston Morgan (12.2 ppg) and Clay Guillozet (10.7 ppg) are also scoring in double-figures, while Jimmy Kodet (8.2 ppg) has started all 13 games and has a team-high 17 blocked shots.
