CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team returns to the road on Wednesday, Mar. 1, as the Choctaws travel to Mobile, Ala., to face Spring Hill College. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.

The game was originally scheduled for Frierson Field at Dickins-Scoper Stadium on the MC campus, but due to the threat of inclement weather invading the Jackson metro area, the game was moved to Historic Stan Galle Field. The return visit to Clinton is slated for Wednesday, Apr. 19 at 4 p.m.

THE SERIES
Mississippi College and Spring Hill will meet for the seventh time in series history with the Badgers holding a 4-2 advantage. The two squads split a home-and-home midweek outings last season with each team holding serve on its home field.

CHOCTAW NOTES
Mississippi College looks to rebound after dropping a weekend series at West Alabama last weekend. The Choctaws were edged in home half of the final innings in all three contest against UWA.
Hunter Sykes led MC at the dish in the series batting .600 (6-for-10) with two RBI and five runs scored. The Columbus, Miss., native sits third on the team with a .333 clip at the dish with eight hits.

Hunter Lacefield tossed a season-long 6.1 innings out of the bullpen on Saturday against the Tigers. The Senatobia, Miss., product fanned a season-best nine in the relief appearance – the most by any Choctaw this season - and allowed three, unearned runs on three hits. The junior hurler held the Tigers to a .150 batting average in the appearance.

Chance Whitten hit his team-best, fourth home run of the season in the first outing against West Alabama. The Batesville, Miss., senior leads the team with 13 RBI this season – with nine coming off homers – and has tallied 12 hits, which is tied for second on the team.

Casey Echols continues to lead the Navy and Gold at the plate, hitting .368 with a team-leading 14 hits, including a double and a home run.
Will Elliott sits second on the team with a .353 average as he's tied with Whitten with 12 hits and has driven in six runs.

Four Choctaws have totaled double-digit strikeouts on the mound.
Tommy Taborda leads the pitching staff with 21 in 20.2 innings of work while
Jake Fraze sits second on the team with 14 in 24.0 frames.
Tim Holloway ranks third with 12 strikeouts followed by
Zack Ingram with 10 punch outs this season.

BADGER NOTES
Spring Hill sits 8-8 on the season after taking a weekend series at Auburn Montgomery. The Badgers are 1-3 this season against Gulf South Conference opponents. SHC took one game in a three-game series at UAH earlier this season and fell against West Florida prior to the series with the Chargers.

Michael Druhan paces the Purple and White with a .491 clip at the dish. Druhan also leads the squad with 26 hits and 18 RBI in 53 plate appearances. Sean Bretz, who has tossed in two midweek contests this season, has a team-best 2.37 ERA and has fanned 17 batters in 19.0 innings.

Following the midweek outing, the Choctaws return to Gulf South Conference action this weekend as they host Shorter University beginning Saturday, Mar. 4 with a doubleheader slated for 2 p.m. The final game of the series is set for Sunday, Mar. 5 at 1 p.m.
