MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE NOTES
Mississippi College picked up an important win on Thursday evening in Memphis, Tenn., with a 79-67 victory over Christian Brothers. Four Lady Choctaws scored in double figures led
Kelley Allen,
Cortrice Golden and
Kaitlyn Thompson with 14 points each. It marked a season-high for Thompson.
Olivia Mabry added 10 points in the decision.

The Lady Choctaws are tied for sixth in the GSC standings heading into the final regular season game at A.E. Wood Coliseum. MC is seeking its first conference tournament berth since the 2011-12 season. The top eight teams move to the GSC quarterfinals on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

UNION NOTES
Union topped Delta State on 59-56 in Jackson, Tenn., to improve its win streak to two games. Union is tied for sixth with Mississippi College and Christian Brothers in the conference standings following Thursday night's activity. UU has won four of its last five heading into the action on Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs got 13-point efforts on Thursday from Tiffany Rechis and Jada Perkins to assist them in the win over the Lady Statesmen. Perkins ranks second on the team in scoring this season with 10.7 per game while Rechis is averaging 8.4 points per contest.

Mississippi College closes out the 2016-17 regular season on the road next weekend with road trips to the University of West Georgia on Thursday, Feb. 23 and the University of West Alabama on Saturday, Feb. 25.
