CLINTON, Miss. --- The Mississippi College baseball team dropped a 15-3 contest on Sunday, Feb. 12 at Frierson Field at Dickins-Scoper Stadium. MC moves to 1-6 on the season while LU improves to 4-3.

KEY STATS
- Hunter Austin logged a multiple hit effort to lead the Choctaws at the plate. Austin finished the day going 2-for-3 with a run scored.
- Hunter Bolin and Will Elliott recorded the remaining two hits for the Navy and Gold as they both tallied RBI in the outing. Austin Dillon also added a RBI.
- Zack Ingram took the loss on the mound with 3.0 innings of action in the start. Ingram (0-1) allowed five runs on seven hits with a walk.
- Wes Degner, Drew Quinones and Rayce Singbush each totaled three hits to lead Lindenwood at the plate as Quinones drove in a team-best four runs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lindenwood jumped on the board early with five runs in its first two trips to the plate, including a four-run, second inning.
- The Choctaws cut into the lead in the bottom of the second frame with a pair runs. MC's first run came as Bolin singled up the middle to score Austin. Bolin scored two batters later as Elliott laid down a sacrifice bunt.
- After the Lions plated a run in the top of the fourth, they expanded their lead with four more in the top of the fifth to take a 10-2 lead through five frames.
- Â After Lindenwood added five more runs in the eighth inning to extend its lead to 15-2, the Choctaws garnered its final run in the bottom of the ninth as Dylan Duplechain scored on an Austin Dillon sac fly to center field. Duplechain led off the inning as he was hit by pitch.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Mississippi College set five pitchers to the mound in the contest. Hunter Lacefield (1.0), Shelby Craddock (1.0), Perry Turner (2.1) and Hunter Mullis combined for six innings of action in relief.
- Lindenwood left a total of 11 runners on the bases in the contest while MC stranded three.
- The Lions went 10-for-24 (.417) with runners in scoring position while the Choctaws converted 1-of-8.
